The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has charged Kashina Marshe Sullivan, 37, of Pelzer with Presenting a False Claim for Insurance Payment – Value More Than $2,000 but Less Than $10,000, Financial Identity Fraud, and Insurance Misrepresentation – $50,000 or More – 1st Offense on Monday, August 25, 2025.
The South Carolina Department of Insurance requested the SLED investigation.
According to warrants, Sullivan submitted a false claim for insurance payment to Progressive Direct Insurance Company. Sullivan’s vehicle had pre-existing damage prior to obtaining an insurance policy with Progressive. During an audio/video voluntary statement, Sullivan admitted that her vehicle was involved in a collision during the early morning hours of May 30. Sullivan then obtained an insurance policy with Progressive Insurance using a false name and provided other personal identities and filed a claim.
According to the warrant, Sullivan attempted to gain an undeserved economic advantage by potentially exposing Progressive to $5,973 for preexisting damage to her vehicle, but was denied.
Sullivan was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center. The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
