Candidates sign up for Pelzer and West Pelzer elections

    Four candidates have signed up to run for two at-large seats on West Pelzer Town Council. In Pelzer, five candidates have signed up for two at-large seats on Pelzer Town Council and one more signed up for a seat filling an unexpired term on council.
    Two candidates signed up to run for the Pelzer Mayor’s seat.
    Elections for both towns will be held on Election Day Tuesday, November 4.

    In West Pelzer, Town Council members Jeff Lee and Johnny Rogers seats are up for this election.
    Both incumbents have signed up and will face challenges by two other candidates, Jeff Turner and Rick Sanders who also signed up to run for a seat on council.

    The Town of Pelzer has three council seats and the mayor’s seat open. Seats for Councilmembers Mike Matthews and Donna Ide are up for this election. Also the unexpired council term (two years) as the result of the resignation of former Councilmember Cruz West.
    Councilmembers Mike Matthews and Donna Ide have signed up to run for re-election. Also signing up to run are Michael Shirley, Jason McElhannon and Deb Sellers.
    Gregory Pellum is the only candidate to sign-up for the unexpired 2 year term on council.

    Two candidates signed-up to run for the Pelzer mayor’s seat. They are Chase Smithwick and Harold Tennihill. Current Mayor Will Ragland is not running for re-election.

    The West Pelzer and Pelzer General Elections will be held on November 4. Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    Early Voting will be conducted at the Board of Voter Registration and Elections, 301 N Main Street, Anderson, beginning Monday October 20 through Friday, October 31. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Polling Location for Pelzer Precinct (051) voting will be at ALIVE Wesleyan Church, 2 Wesleyan Dr, Pelzer.
    The West Pelzer polling precinct (068) votes at West Pelzer Fire Department, 101 Main Street, Pelzer.
