A Williamston man is facing multiple drug and gun charges in relation to an attempted armed robbery and kidnapping incident that occurred on Wednesday, September 10.
According to Williamston Police Chief Kevin Marsee, at approximately 2:10 pm, Williamston Police Department officers were dispatched to the Stop and Go located at 103 Greenville Drive in response to a 911 call reporting a possible abduction and armed suspect.
The caller, later identified as the victim, advised that he had been abducted by a male known to him as “Al Mosley,” who was armed with a firearm. Due to the suspect’s proximity during the call, the victim was only able to provide limited information.
Upon arrival, officers entered the business and observed an individual identified as Austin Leneer Mosley, 32, of 320 East Carolina Street, Williamston, standing next to the reported victim.
Mosley was immediately detained without incident.
The victim informed officers that he had been abducted at gunpoint on Mattison Drive and forced into a vehicle by Mosley and was driven to the Stop and Go, where Mosley ordered him to withdraw money against his will.
A search of the vehicle driven by Mosley revealed a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol, trafficking quantities of substances that field-tested positive for crack cocaine and powder cocaine, as well as a quantity of marijuana packaged for distribution.
Based on the investigation, Mosley was charged with the following offenses: Kidnapping, Attempted Armed Robbery, Trafficking Crack Cocaine, Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Driving Under Suspension, 3rd Offense or Subsequent
