THRASHER
A Belton man is behind bars after investigators found several dead dogs at his Anderson County home.
According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began in early September when an anonymous caller told the Sheriff’s Office dogs were being mistreated at a home along Camelot Drive in Belton.
The ACSO Animal Control Unit quickly responded, executing a search warrant, uncovering at least 3 dead dogs outside the home and several more decomposing inside a small shed behind the house.
Over the course of several days, investigators have completed a thorough investigation and Christopher Thor Thrasher, 26, was charged with three counts of felony Ill Treatment of Animals.
Investigators believe this abuse and severe neglect took place for at least a month and are still in the midst of attempting to identify potential remains.
As a result, Thrasher could be facing additional charges in the future.
The Fugitive Investigations Unit tracked down Thrasher, bringing him into custody on Tuesday morning (Sept. 16). He remains inside the Anderson County Detention Center.
