Gary Henderson, Diane G. Newell, Mark Garrett, Kimberly Tice, Terry Morgan Chastain

Terry Morgan Chastain 

Williamston- Terry Morgan Chastain, 78, husband of the late Terri Chastain, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025.

 Born in Abbeville, SC, he was the son of the late Roy Earl Chastain, Sr. and Dorothy Gillian Chastain Ramsey.

 Mr. Chastain served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War and retired as a truck driver for Conway Southern Express. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

 He is survived by his first wife, Sybil Chastain Johnston and their two children, Tracie Chastain Perkins (James) of Powder Springs, Georgia and Hank Chastain (Angie) of Simpsonville; daughter, Jessica Chastain of Williamston; and son, Zach Chastain of Black Mountain, North Carolina; grandchildren, Nicole Hudson (Trent), Brooke Lee Mangle (Janike), Kinsley and Karsen Perkins; great-grandchildren, Maddie, Caden, and Brielle Mangle, Cameron McCall, Hunter and Rylee Hudson; brothers, Ronnie and  Steve Chastain; and sister, Debbie Chastain.

 He was preceded in death by brother, Rodger Chastain.

 A visitation was held on Tuesday, October 7 from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm at Gray Mortuary. The funeral service will be at Gray Mortuary Chapel at 2:00 pm. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC with military honors.

Kimberly Tice

Kimberly Gaye Brown Tice  of West Pelzer, 66, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late William Edward and Annie Ruth Allen Brown. She was employed with Anmed Medical Center.

Survivors include daughter, Peyton Holbert; son, Tyler Tice; five grandchildren;  sister, Deb Smith; and former husband, Tommy Tice.

The family received friends October 4 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with a memorial service following in the mortuary chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anderson County PAWS, 1320 Hwy 29 South, Anderson, SC 29626.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Peyton Holbert, 110 The Trace, Belton.

Mark Garrett

Mark Charles Garrett of Williamston, 56, husband of Tanya Scharrell Wheeler Garrett, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Born in Easley, he was a son of Dorothy Jane Tice Medlock and the late Alvin Dean “Chip” Garrett. He was a detective with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, attended High Praises Church and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Mark was also a member of Whitefield Fire Department and Pelzer Masonic Lodge #217.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by sons, Brandon Garrett, Hunter Garrett, and Jacob Garrett; brother, Shannon Garrett; sisters, Tonya Taylor and Elysia Coster; and grandchildren, Haleigh, Kaden, Levi, Kash, Scout, and Miller Garrett, Baylor Bowman, and James Wilurn, Jr.

Visitation was held October 5 at NewSpring Church Fuse East Building, Anderson. The funeral followed in the church.

Diane G. Newell 

Diane G. Newell, age 79, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Upstate Community Hospice House. 

She was the loving wife of the late Buddy Newell. Born on March 1, 1946, in Greenville, South Carolina, Diane was the cherished daughter of the late Hack Black and Pearl Black. 

She is survived by her children: Deena (Ken) Allison of West Pelzer, Sandra (Eric) Manley of Easley, Lori (Shane) Brown of Six Mile, and Donna (Jeff) Anderson of Easley. Her beloved grandchildren include: Layla (Marty) Stacy, Tyler Brown, Kadence Anderson, Kristian Anderson, Lexi Manley, and Gabby Manley; and one great-granddaughter, Naomi Stacy. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marie Newell. In addition to her parents and husband, Diane was predeceased by her sister, Betty Isley. 

The family received friends on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home. A private Burial will follow. Mountain View Funeral Home is serving the Newell family

Gary Henderson

Gary Brent Henderson of Piedmont, 82, widower of Joyce Ann Hall Henderson, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Born in Liberty, he was a son of the late John Paul Henderson and Annie Alma Alzora Warren Henderson. He retired from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church. Gary was also a United States Air Force veteran.

He is survived by daughters, Vonda Lawson (Joe) and Cari Kelley (Neal); six grandchildren, Carson Henderson (Brandon), Will Kelley, Megan Lopez (Darian), Blue Lawson, Adam Lawson, and honorary granddaughter, Victoria Oaks; two great-grandsons, Max and Beau Henderson; sister-in-law, Vickie Hall; brother, Mike Henderson; and sister, Jean Smith.

He was predeceased by sisters, Molly King Alexander, Connie Grice, and Shirley Powell; and brothers, Charles and Junior Henderson.

A memorial service with military honors was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, at Shiloh Methodist Church.
