Anderson County property owners who have past due or unpaid taxes on their property, have until 5 pm this Friday, October 24, to pay the delinquent taxes. After that it will be sold at public auction to the highest bidder on Monday, October 27. Both real estate and mobile homes will be auctioned on this date. In the case of an owner having multiple delinquent properties, only sufficient property will be sold to satisfy the total amount due.
On the day of the tax sale, no delinquent tax payments will be accepted at the sale, at the treasurer’s office or by online payment.
The Anderson County Delinquent Property Tax Sale will be held on Monday at 9 am at the Civic Center of Anderson, located at 3027 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
If a property is sold at the tax sale, defaulting taxpayers will have the opportunity to redeem items sold beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, December 2 at the Anderson County Treasurer’s Office at 401 River St.
Properties throughout the county, including the municipalities, with delinquent 2024 tax payments, (and older), are being advertised for the last time this week in The Journal. Listings are not available from the Anderson County Treasurer’s office.

Click on a dot, then click the blue Tax Map Number to view the property Field Report posting and image. The Field Report includes Defaulting Taxpayer, Year(s) of Delinquency, Deed Book and Page, Assessed Value, Legal Property Description as listed in the deed or record (including acreage where applicable), the owner’s Mailing Address of record and if available, the physical Property Address.
There is also an aerial map image available. A favorites list of items can be created here and can be printed and aid in purchases during the tax sale.
Bidder Information
All bidders are encouraged to take advantage of the pre-registration option. On-site registration will begin at 8 am, October 27. The tax sale will begin promptly at 9 am.

All purchases must be paid in full on the day of the tax sale. Once sale purchases are complete, an invoice will be issued.
Debit or credit card payments will be allowed but credit card limits must be verified. Also, purchasers will be allowed to go to a local bank, secure a cashier’s check payable to Anderson County Treasurer and return to the auction to settle a balance or may pay in cash.
No personal checks will be accepted.
All sales are final. No refunds will be issued. Each opening bid consists of all delinquent tax, penalties and fees due to Anderson County for 2024, the current 2025 tax amount and the expense of the tax sale.
Bidders are urged to Know What You Are Buying and to have all questions or concerns resolved prior to a purchase.
The purchase of a parcel of land that contains a separately-taxed mobile home will not include the mobile home.
The purchase of a mobile home with a Tax Map Number beginning 400-00 will not include the parcel of land upon which the mobile home resides.
As a successful bidder, possession of the property will not be until the one year redemption period has expired and you have been issued a real estate quit-claim tax deed from Anderson County in Feb. 2027 or a mobile home Bill of Sale document in November 2026.
Assignment of items offered but not purchased at the Tax Sale will be processed in person at the Treasurer’s Office on a first come, first serve basis beginning at 8:30 am on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025. Registration will begin at 8 am that morning.
No outside food or beverages are allowed inside the Civic Center. Onsite concessions will be available during the tax sale.
