Belton; Honea Path candidates run unopposed for council seats

In the South Greenville Fire District Commissioner race, Jim Darby retained his seat on the commission with 225 votes. Jimmy Brashier narrowly won a second seat with 178 votes barely edging out Julia Altman who received 174 votes. Anthony Tate had 110 votes. There were 5 write-in votes cast.
In Belton, Mark Spence (Ward 1) Russ Tysl (Ward 3) and Joshua S. Hawkins (Ward 5) won their seats on Council. All three were running unopposed.
In Honea Path A. Earle Ashley (Ward 1), Jason A Peterson ( Ward 3) and Molly Fisher (Ward 5) also won their race for seats on Council, all running unopposed.
In the three zoning referendums, Neal’s Creek, Rock Springs and Shirley Store, voters in all three precincts were clearly in favor for zoning. Neal’s Creek voters said yes by 213 to 140 no. In the Rock Spring Referendum, 129 votes said yes, 55 said no. In the Shirley Store zoning referendyum,110 voters chose yes, 72 no.
