Sarah Allen, Robert Stovall, Philip Callahan, Gladys Simpson Reece

Gladys Simpson Reece

Gladys Hiott Simpson Reece of Williamston, 92, widow of Rev. Landrum Reece, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025.

She was twice married, first to the late Donald Martin Simpson.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Clifton Roy and Ida Hammond Hiott. She retired from Anderson School District One following over 30 years of service as a teacher at various schools within the district. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters, Teresa Simpson Hanley and Donna Simpson Strickland; and one grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 20, at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

The family members are at their respective homes.

Philip Callahan

Philip James Callahan of Honea Path, 83, husband of Linda Johnson Callahan, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Born January 19, 1942 in Piedmont, he was the son of the late Elijah and Faye White Callahan. He retired with Allied Van Lines Movers. He attended Word of Faith Christian Fellowship Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Kean Callahan; sister, Martha Grigsby; cousin raised in the home, Rhonda Martin; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held November 18 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. A memorial service followed in the mortuary chapel.

Robert Stovall

Robert Douglas Stovall of Greenville, 81, formerly of Piedmont, husband of Judith Ann Singleton Stovall, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at his home.

Born in Hartwell, GA, he was a son of the late Robert and Melvia Isom Stovall. He retired from BASF.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Keith Stovall; daughter, Tisha Clements; sisters, Janet Vickery and Judy Bailey; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family received friends November 15 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

Sarah Allen

Sarah Helen Brown Allen of Piedmont, 93, wife of the late Ray Kenneth Allen, Sr., departed this earthly life peacefully Sunday, November 16, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.

Born in Ninety Six, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Walter Brown, Sr. and Pauline Siebert Brown. She retired as a regional manager of occupational nursing for J.P. Stevens and continued to care for others as a part-time occupational nurse in the manufacturing industry for many years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Piedmont.

She is survived by son, Ken Allen of Piedmont; daughter, Stacy Brooks of Williamston; sister, Jo Nell Brown Bagwell of Greenwood; four grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 20, from 12:30 to 1:45 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the mortuary chapel. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens
