A Starr man died Friday after being hit by a motorcycle on Highway 81S at Flat Rock Road in Starr. According to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore, Anderson County 911 received a call at 1:39 am regarding a motorcycle that had hit a pedestrian.
Responders arrived on scene and treated both the driver of the motorcycle as well as the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported by Medshore to the helipad at AnMed and was then flown to Prisma in Greenville where he succumbed to his injuries at 2:53am.
The victim was identified as Dainzu Clemente Bustos, 42, of Anderson.
Preliminary investigation shows that the victim was walking in the roadway on Highway 81S when he was hit from behind by the motorcycle.
The death has been ruled accidental.
Anderson County Office of the Coroner, South Carolina Highway Patrol, Anderson County Sheriff’s, Office, Homeland Park Fire Department, Medshore Ambulance Service, and Anderson County EMS responded to the scene.
