The West Pelzer – Pelzer Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, December 6 at 5:30 pm. There is no entry fee for the parade.
Parade Route on Hwy. 8/Main Street will begin at West Pelzer Fire Department and end at the Pelzer Gym. Judges will be at Chapman Park.
Staging will take place on Palmetto Station Way and Stephanie Dr. Lineup will begin at 4:30 p.m. The road will close in preparation for the parade to start at 5:15 pm. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m.
Parade entry check in will be in front of the fire department. No parking or loading of floats will be allowed at the Fire Department or the grass area beside the Fire Department.
Students that are with the ROTC, Band & Cheerleading may be dropped off at the front of the fire department to meet up with their group. Do not pull into the fire department or block the fire department.
Participants may be dropped of on Main St, but no parking will be allowed. This will be for quick drop-offs only. Parking will be at the Elementary school and participants can walk to the parade staging area.
Participant meeting to load on a float or ride together as a group can also load parade entries at the Elementary school parking lot before going to the staging area.
All entries are urged to be on time before the parade. If late entries are entered- new entries will not be accepted after 5 pm on the day of the parade.
Participants will receive an Entry Number on the day of the parade by checking in at the table set up in front of West Pelzer Fire Department. (DO NOT pull into the fire department, DO NOT block entrance/exit of the Fire Department. Pull to the side of the road to check in).
Please post your Entry Number on the driver’s side of the vehicle so that the judges can see it. Judges will be sitting at Chapman Park.
Large vehicles (i.e. tractors, large truck oversized floats) will line up on Main St between the Fire Department and Palmetto Rd.
Horses will stage at the Elementary School and will follow the Santa float at the end of the parade.
Organizers remind participants and parade goers to not block residential driveways, be courteous to the homeowners, land and vehicles while parking until the parade begins.
All units should be designed in a manner which is safe for all participants and spectators. Make sure all is secure and working properly, ready for the parade. Be sure that the trailer hitch or trailer attachment is compatible between the vehicle and trailer in advance of the parade date.
All drivers must stay with their units during the staging process. All decorations should be completed by the time the participants arrive.
Alcoholic beverages are forbidden on any float, vehicle, or any person.
For the safety of children and all spectators, parade entries should ensure that candy makes it to the sidewalk to prevent kids from walking out in the road during the parade.
