DILL
A National Guard Officer is facing 10 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor 2nd degree after he allegedly shared disturbing child abuse material online.
Anderson County detectives recently charged Jared Allen Dill, 45 of Easley following an investigation that began in September 2024.
Authorities arrived at his Shefwood Drive home in Easley early Thursday morning (Nov. 20) where they took Dill into custody. A heavy law enforcement presence was seen at the 263 Army Air and Missile Defense Command facility along Martin Luther King Boulevard in Anderson.
According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation into Dill began after detectives received numerous cybertips on Dill and his inappropriate activity.
After gathering timestamped evidence, the materials show Dill uploaded child sexual abuse files up until October 2025. The victims are anywhere from the age of 5 to 15 years old.
Detectives said Dill would go as far as to send explicit photos to strangers in his army national guard uniform while serving as a high ranking officer.
“It does not matter what your rank or position you hold within the community, there is no hiding behind a uniform when this kind of wrongdoing is involved. We will arrest all violators when it comes to protecting our children,” Sheriff Chad McBride said.
The incident remains an ongoing investigation as more materials and details are being gathered on site.
Anderson County deputies worked collaboratively with Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, Easley City Police, US Marshals Task Force, Homeland Security and the Army Criminal Investigation Division.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
The South Carolina National Guard Public Affairs passed along this statement. “We are aware of the incident involving a South Carolina National Guard Soldier. The South Carolina National Guard takes all matters involving its service members seriously. However, this is an ongoing investigation, and we are unable to provide further details at this time.”
