The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident that prompted the temporary shutdown of all lanes of Augusta Road from Bracken Road to Matrix Parkway Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 1:52 PM, South Greenville Fire Department responded to a call after a passerby reported what appeared to be a possible vehicle wreck. Upon arrival, first responders located a vehicle stationary off the side of Augusta Road.
A person was found inside the vehicle with injuries that were reported as possibly related to a gunshot wound. That information is currently being investigated. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital for further evaluation. Their condition is not known at this time.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the roadway is reopened.
