The Piedmont Holly Jolly Christmas Parade will be held this Saturday, Dec. 6, at 11 am.
The Bonnes Amies Club has sponsored the Holly Jolly Christmas Parade for 27 years. “This is one of our favorite traditions,” a spokesperson said.
The ladies have decorated the Saluda River bridge at Highway 86 each year with garland and beautiful handmade bows provided by the club to dress-up the town for the holidays.
Two award winning bands, the Woodmont High School Marching Band and the Wren High School Marching Band and ROTC, the Hejaz Drifters, and of course Santa will be there!
“We would love to have as many participants as possible this year and encourage school groups, bands, sports, pageant winners, cheerleaders, dancers, youth programs, churches, classic and vintage cars and trucks, pets on leashes, horses and riders, businesses, clubs, organizations to participate”, organizers said. “This is a great opportunity for businesses and community organizations to advertise.”
Cash prizes will be awarded to the best three entries in this year’s parade.
“The Bonnes Amies Club greatly appreciates the continuing support of the Piedmont community in helping make our Holly Jolly Christmas Parade a joyful experience for everyone.”
Parade entry forms and procedures may be picked up at the Piedmont Fire Department, Buffalo Cornbread restaurant, or online at Facebook Holly Jolly Christmas Parade. The entry fee is $15 per unit. Last years parade had 55 entries.
The registration station will be at the Dominos drive-thru on Highway 86 at Blossom Branch Road with line-up on Blossom Branch and Willow Drive.
