Williamston Town Council will hold a Special Called meeting at 2 pm on Friday, Dec. 5th. Four public hearings will be held regarding four separate zoning requests. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers at the Williamston Municipal Center.
620 Greenville Drive – This hearing is to provide an opportunity for the community to comment on a rezoning request presented to the Planning Commission, which has been forwarded to the Council with a recommendation for denial. The request is to rezone .29 acres located at 620 Greenville Drive, Williamston, South Carolina, Anderson County TMS No: 244-02-06-032, from Residential/Commercial District (RC) to Office Commercial (OC) District, for the purpose of a car lot.
Belton Drive – This hearing is to provide an opportunity for the community to comment on a rezoning request presented to the Planning Commission, which has been forwarded to the Council with a recommendation for approval. The request is to rezone property located on Belton Drive, containing approximately 12.22 acres, Williamston, South Carolina, Anderson County TMS No.: 221-00-05-002 and TMS 221-03-03-007, from Institutional (INS) to R-7 Single Family Residential District for potential single family housing development purposes.
Mattison Street – This hearing is to provide an opportunity for the community to comment on a rezoning request presented to the Planning Commission, which has been forwarded to the Council with a recommendation for approval. The request is to rezone property located on Mattison Street containing 2.01 acres, Williamston, South Carolina, Anderson County
TMS No: 244-03-03-021, from R-7 Single Family Residential District to RC Residential/Commercial District for potential future Economic Development purposes.
Tripp Street, Whilden Drive, Murdock Street, Stone Street – This hearing is to provide an opportunity for the community to comment on a rezoning request presented to the Planning Commission, which has been forwarded to the Council with a recommendation for approval. The request is to rezone property located on Tripp Street, Whilden Drive, Murdock Street and Stone Street, Williamston, South Carolina, Anderson County TMS No.: 244-01-05-004, from R-2 Single Family Residential District to R-3 Single Family Residential District for potential single family housing development purposes.
Those wishing to comment must sign up for the public comments section prior to the beginning of the meeting. There will be a sign-up sheet available at the front of the town’s Council chamber. Please note that no questions are allowed to be answered at that time due to this being a public hearing.
