The Anderson County Coroner’s office is investigating the death of a man and woman at a home in Williamston Sunday evening.
According to reports, Anderson County 911 received a call just before 7 pm on Sunday regarding two deceased victims at a mobile home on Joe Black Road in Williamston.
Preliminary investigation shows that the man and woman were living in a mobile home that did not have electricity and were running a generator inside a bedroom to power a heater.
The cause of death for both victims is carbon monoxide poisoning, and the manner of death has been ruled accidental.
The names of the victims are being withheld at this time pending notification of their families.
Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore reminds the community that it is never safe to operate generators inside a home due to the toxic fumes that they put off that could lead to a person’s death.
