A 73-year-old Piedmont man was fatally injured in a multi-vehicle crash Dec. 30 while traveling home after attending a relative’s funeral.
According to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore, Dwayne Kenneth Stegall, was treated at the scene by EMS personnel and transported by Lifeflight Air Medical Services to Prisma Health Trauma Center in Greenville. Stegall succumbed to his injuries upon arriving at the trauma center.

The decedent’s vehicle then traveled into the path of a semi tractor trailer. The decedent was the only occupant of the vehicle and was restrained at the time of the accident.
