There will be a Special Election to fill the vacant mayor seat in West Pelzer on January 20, 2026. Rick Sanders is the only person to file as a candidate and will be the only name on the ballt.
Polls will be open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Early Voting will be conducted at the Board of Voter Registration and Elections, 301 N Main Street, Anderson through Friday, January 16. Hours are M-F 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
West Pelzer precinct (068) votes at West Pelzer Fire Department, 101 Main Street, Pelzer.
Update – Sanders won the election with 47 of 49 votes cast.
There were two write-in votes cast.
A special election to fill a seat on Council left vacant with Sander’s election as mayor will held soon. Sanders was elected to a Council seat in November but announced he was running for mayor following the resignation of former mayor Jim Riddle.
