NORRIS MARTIN
A stepfather has been arrested for sexual assault of a young family member while the mother had full knowledge.
Anderson County detectives within the Criminal Investigations Division have charged Andrew Joseph Martin, 38 with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor First Degree while the child’s mother Misty Danielle Norris, 35, has been charged with Accessory and Unlawful Neglect of a Child.
Deputies responded to the family’s Murphy Hill Road, Belton home at the beginning of January and identified a 14 year-old girl asking for help from law enforcement.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, evidence shows Martin sexually abused the girl for years and pressured her to keep quiet about the disturbing sexual abuse.
The victim’s mother is also facing charges after she admitted she knew about the vulgar acts between Martin and the victim for years.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident remains under investigation and additional charges are pending for Martin.
