Eleven more winter storm related deaths reported

The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) recently announced that eleven additional deaths have been confirmed as being related to the winter storms that swept through the state at the end of January through early February.
The total number of storm-related fatalities is seventeen.
Five of the deaths were due to hypothermia; one was hypothermia with potential CO2 exposure; one was blunt force trauma (accidental), three were blunt force trauman (traffic-related) and one was due to Myocardial Infarction.
The deaths occurred in Abbeville, Anderson, Beaufort, Calhoun, Charleston, Colleton, Horry, Lexington and Richland counties between January 31 and February 3.
