June Brown
Junie “June” Rebecca Childs Brown of Williamston, 86, wife of the late Vernon Leon Brown, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at her home.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Clinton Morris and Ossie Suddeth Childs. She retired from Kendall Mill and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Wanda Scroggs and Susan Patterson; brother, Jimmy “Oogie” Childs; grandchildren, Eric Epps, Jennifer Bradley, and Kayla Anderson; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held April 10 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the funeral service following in the church. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621 or Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1300 Anderson Dr., Williamston, SC 29697.

Mac McDaniel
Carestil “Mac” McDaniel Piedmont, 92, husband of 73 years to Loretta McDaniel, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026 at his home.
Born in Clay County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Chester and Ida Pearl Walden McDaniel. He was former owner and operator of a residential construction company and a member of Still Waters Fellowship.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Bruce McDaniel and fur baby, Beau.
No services are planned at this time.

Hazel Hurley
Pelzer – Hazel Ann Davenport Hurley, 70, wife of Marshall Ray Hurley, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at her home.
Born in Ware Shoals, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Sara Nell Coker Thompson. She retired from Greenville County School District where she was an after school tutor, and substitute. She influenced many students lives under her tutelage. Hazel had a strong faith in Jesus.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Allison Hurley; sisters, Debbie Abercrombie (Kenny) and Darlene Terry; aunt, Mary Bayne; adopted daughter, Dana Serrano; and nieces, Kirsten and Layton Clark.
Visitation was held Saturday, April 11, from 9:30 to 10:45 am at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the memorial service following at 11:00 am in the mortuary chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any women’s health organization of your choice.
