Suzanne Black 

Cheryl Suzanne Burgess Black of Honea Path, 60, wife of Michael Douglas Black, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at her home.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of Frances Ann Poole Hart and the late Arthur Leon Burgess. She was employed with Anderson School District One at Palmetto Middle School and a member of Whitefield Baptist Church. She loved being a Gigi to her grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life. Suzanne loved the outdoors and was a devoted wife, mother, and Gigi. She was firm in her faith and never met a stranger.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by daughters, Alex Black and Erin Driver; son, Drake Black; three grandchildren and brothers, Rex Burgess and Charlie Cunningham.

The family received friends April 26 at Whitefield Baptist Church with the funeral service following. Burial was in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whitefield Baptist Church, 207 Mitchell Road, Belton, SC 29627.

Parnell Quenton DuBois 

Parnell Quenton DuBois of Pelzer, 92, husband of Blanch Amerson DuBois, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026.

Born in Islandton, SC, he was a son of the late Jesse Wilbur and Olise Earlene Jones DuBois. He retired from Honeywell in Greer and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Judy Timms, Olan DuBois, and Joyce Lane; brother, J.W. DuBois, Jr.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, Riley, Brayden, Brentley, Camden, and Emma Grace Hammonds, Paisley Whitman, Violet Whitman, Layton and Hazleigh Ledford, Addilyn Dyer, and Dale and Zoe Bennett.

The family received friends Tuesday, April 28, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. in the mortuary chapel.

Robbie Davis

James Robert “Robbie” Davis of Pelzer, 62, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Herman and Uldine Black Davis. He was formerly employed with Bateman Seaborn and a member of Redemption Church in Powdersville. He loved NASCAR racing and supporting the Powdersville High School Patriots Athletic Department.

He is survived by sisters, Jackie Keaton and Thelma Eller; brother, Johnny Davis; 9 nieces and nephews; and special great-nephew, Kyland Hiott.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

David Duncan

David Michael Duncan of Piedmont, 71, husband of Connie Faye Leroy Duncan, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Russell Clyde and Carolyn Ruby Mahaffey Duncan. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served his community with his carpentry skills.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Melissa Taylor; step-sons, Craig Powell and Matthew Powell; brother, Jerry Duncan; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service was held April 27 in the chapel at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

Larry Wigington

Easley – Larry Ellis Wigington, 85, husband of LaVerle Richardson Wigington, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 at his home.

Born in Pelzer, he was the son of the late George Q. Wigington, Jr. and Hazel Bell Wigington. He was owner of Wigington Scrap Metal, and Southern Heartpine Restorers Company, a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, served in the Army National Guard and was Past Master of the Mountain Springs Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Natalie Wigington Swillen (Brad); grandchildren, William Ellis Swillen, Caroline Merritt Swillen, and Hayes Wigington Swillen; a cousin raised in the home, Randy Wood (Debbie); and niece, Elizabeth Bunton Bowen (Ken).

He was predeceased by sister, Janet Wigington Bunton.

The family received friends Monday, April 27, from 1:30 – 2:45 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Burial was at Mountain Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
