Collin Alexander has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Anderson County Council District 7.
“My journey to this decision began with a commitment to service,” Alexander said. “After graduating from The Citadel in 2012, I commissioned into the United States Marine Corps, where I learned the values of Honor, Courage and Commitment.”
“In 2014, I married my wife, Ashley, and after completing my service in 2019, we chose to move back home to Anderson County to raise our four children and begin my career in the technology sector. We currently live just outside of Williamston and are proud members of New Covenant Church.”
“I am running because I love this community, but like many of you, I am concerned about our future. I often hear that there is a lack of trust in our county government. As your councilman, I plan to restore that trust through total transparency. This starts with establishing term limits, removing conflicts of interest, and implementing practical accessibility, such as streaming all our meetings online so you can hold us accountable from your own living room.”
“Anderson County is a beautiful place, and we must work together to keep it that way. Development has grown out of control, and I will fight for stricter limits on growth, ensuring we only welcome businesses that benefit our communities and developments that fit our existing infrastructure.”
“We are all aware of the strain on our roads every day. While slowing over-development is the first step, I will work to find better ways to allocate our resources to our roads. I plan to leverage FILOT (Fee-in-Lieu-of-Tax) agreements with major corporations, ensuring that large corporations are contributing to the roads our families rely on.”
“I am asking for your vote in the Republican Primary on June 9th. I am ready to bring transparency, a focus on our community, and a plan for smart growth to Anderson County.”
