Greenville & Western Railway Company, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Western Carolina Railway Service Corporation, will be performing track maintenance and resurfacing of the rail-highway grade crossing located on Blake Dairy Road (C-18-20) in Belton on May 13 and May 14.

The area of Blake Dairy Road (C-18-20) forming the rail highway grade crossing between Main Street (US 76 / US 178 / SC 20) and Longshore Drive (BN-18-1648) will be closed for approximately 36 hours, beginning 7 am Wednesday, May 13, through 7 pm Thursday, May 14.
During this brief road closure, ALL TRAFFIC will be required to detour around the area using Blake Dairy Road (C18-20), East Calhoun Road (C-18-19A), River Street (SC 247) and Main Street (US 76 / US 178 / SC 20).
Because Blake Dairy Road (C-18-20) is not a commercial truck route, no separate commercial truck detour route has been planned but the posted detour route is commercial truck capable.
Blake Dairy Road (C-18-20) will remain open to local traffic on the east side of the closed railroad crossing during the closure period. The Advanced Metalworks facility will remain accessible during the project via Blake Dairy Road (C-18-20) from East Calhoun Road (C18-19A).
Drivers are urged, however, to be watchful for men and equipment working in the vicinity of the closure.
“Greenville & Western Railway thanks the public in advance for their patience and understanding during this temporary road closure,” a spokesperson said.
