Anderson School District 2 voters say NO to new middle school

Anderson School District Two voters said a resounding no to funding construction of a new unified middle school in a special election bond referendum being held May 2. If approved, the $65 million bond would have allowed construction, equipping and furnishing of the new middle school which was to be located directly behind BHP High School.
A total of 3,101 people voted. Of that 81.71 percent, 2,529 voters were opposed. 19.29 percent of voters, 566, were in favor. Total voter turnout was 22 percent.
