Jackie Joyce

Pelzer – It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Jackie Bartee Joyce, who went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

Born in Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Jackson and Patricia Ann Bartee. Jackie was a woman of strong faith who loved Broadway shows, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She never met a stranger and had a special gift for making others feel welcomed and loved. Her kindness, laughter, and generous spirit touched many lives.

Jackie leaves behind her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Martin Joyce; her cherished daughter, Alison Joyce (Candice); her loving brother, Kim Bartee (Betsy); her nieces Amy and Heidi (Chris) along with their children, Tyler and Aiden; and her beloved fur-granddog, Saylor, who faithfully stayed by her side during her final days.

She also dearly loved her bonus family, Kim and Kat Mueller-Orcutt and their children, Grisham, Beckett, and Hudson, who brought her great joy through the years.

Jackie was also blessed with a special circle of dear friends with whom she shared many wonderful adventures and memories, especially Kathy Phillips (Cooter) and Vivian Garrett (Bennett). Her family would like to recognize the lasting friendship, love, and laughter they shared over the years.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service and celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the National MS Society, P.O. Box 91891, Washington, DC 20090-1891 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
