Tractor Supply held a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Saturday for their new store serving Pelzer, West Pelzer, Williamston and the surrounding area. Homeowners, livestock and pet owners, gardeners, hobby farmers, ranchers, tradesmen and others can find a variety of products for the “Out Here” lifestyle at the store which is located at 285 Highway 20 S between Pelzer and Williamston.
“We’re excited to call Pelzer and Williamston home and serve the community with the essentials you need,” said store manager Lance Merck. “We are super excited to be here. Everybody has been so supportive and welcoming to us.”
Williamston Mayor Rockey Burgess welcomed Tractor Supply to the area. He said a lot of effort went into bringing the new store “to Williamston”. Although branding for the store focuses on being in Pelzer, Burgess explained that the store is technically located in the corporate limits of the Town of Williamston. The location has a Pelzer mailing address, but prior to construction, was annexed into Williamston so that the town could provide services such as police and fire protection. Burgess said his business, Autech, has the same situation, with a Pelzer address but actually located in the town limits of Williamston.
The store is centrally located between Pelzer, Williamston and West Pelzer.
“We are three towns,” Burgess said. “But we are one community.”
