Williamston Police Department participates in Fraternal Order of Police Officer Memorial – During National Police Week

In recognition of National Police Week, members of the Williamston Police Department recently participated in the Anderson County Fraternal Order of Police Officer Memorial ceremony held at the monument in front of the Anderson County Courthouse.
National Police Week is observed each year to honor the selfless service, dedication, and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the United States. As part of that observance, officers from agencies throughout Anderson County gathered together to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
The memorial monument, located in front of the Anderson County Courthouse, bears the names of fallen officers whose courage and commitment to protecting their communities will never be forgotten. Additionally, a separate monument bears the names of fallen K-9s. The ceremony provided an opportunity for officers, families, and community members to stand united in remembrance and gratitude for their service.
The Williamston Police Department remains honored to participate in this meaningful tradition and to stand beside fellow law enforcement officers in paying tribute to the heroes who gave their lives serving others.
“National Police Week reminds us of the tremendous dedication and sacrifice demonstrated daily by law enforcement officers across this county,” said Police Chief Kevin Marsee. “We are especially grateful for the opportunity to honor the memory of those officers whose names are forever inscribed on this memorial and whose legacy continues to inspire us all.”
