Anderson School District One holds graduation ceremonies

Anderson School District One High School graduates received their diplomas in ceremonies held Tuesday, May 19 at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson.

Palmetto High was first with a ceremony held at 9 a.m.
Honor Grad Daniel McGahee began the program with a moment of reflection. Following was presentation of colors by the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Color Guard (AFJROTC).
Honor Grad EllaJo Roach led the Pledge of Allegiance. The National Anthem was presented by David Dare.
Honor Grad Daniel Avila-Zea welcomed guests.
Salutatorian Lana Newsome gave her student address.
Special music “I Will Sing You The Stars” was presented by Mark Burrows and the Varsity Concert Choir.
Valedictorian Joshua Warren gave his student address.
Honor Grad Tanner Chapman read a Letter from the Class of 2026.
Principal Robert Roach recognized special guests including members of the AD1 Board.
Superintendent Dr. Seth Young presented diplomas along with Principal Roach, Assistant Principals Dr. Williams Jones and Darryl Imperati. Principal Roach confirmed graduates.
Honor Grad Micah Navarro gave a student response which was followed by the Alma Mater.

Wren High Graduation began at 12 p.m.
The Wren High Orchestra, led by Orchestra Director Mary Beth Carpenter presented the Prelude which was followed by the Processional “Pomp and Circumstance”.
Honor Grad Taylor Sydney Collins led the opening reflection.
The NJROTC Color Guard presented colors.
Honor Grad Gavin Manley Motz led the Pledge of Allegiance. Honor Grad Ashlyn Blaire Bell sang the National Anthem.
Honor Grad Campbell Elizabeth Ellenburg welcomed guests.
The Wren Concert Choir presented special music, “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.
Principal Dr. Kyle Whitfield recognized special guests including District 1 Board members, AD1 office personnel and Wren administrators.
Salutatorian Jessica Alejandra Johnson presented her graduation address “All in This Together”.
Valedictorian Thomas James Marte gave his graduation address “The Paths Our Footprints Create”.
Honor Grad Adam Sackariah Cotton read a letter to the audience.
Dr. Whitfield, Christopher Chapman, Courtney Jackson and Braden Wilson awarded diplomas to graduates.
The Alma Mater was led by Honor Grad Jamison Drake Cox.
Honor Grad Luke Richard Coleman gave closing remarks.

Powdersville High Graduation
The Powdersville High graduation ceremony was held at 3 p.m., May 19.
Honor Grads Daniel HaoNan Thompson and Ella Brooke Drayton held a moment of reflection.
The NJROTC presented colors. Honor Grad Allyson Elizabeth Raines led the Pledge to the Flag. She then sang the “Star-Spangled Banner”.
Honor Grad and Student Body Co-President Adelle Rebekah Mackey and Honor Grad and Student Body Co-President Caroline Grace McCall welcomed guests.
Special Music, “Fly Away” was presented by Jonathan Reid and Varsity Choir Members.
Powdersville Principal Dr. Adam Lanford presented award and recognized honors.
Valedictorian and Honor Grad Giulia Bufano presented graduation address “The Things We Carry”.
Salutatorian and Honor Grad Harshil Patel gave the graduation address “More Than Just a Moment”.
Honor Grad Prachi Rikeshkumar Patel read a letter to the audience.
The Alma Mater was led by Honor Grad Alexandria Rose Clark and Honor Grad Sarah Faith Piette.
Honor Grad and Senior Class President Grace Collins had closing remarks.
AD1 Board members include Nancy Upton, Chairman; Michael S. Wilson Vice Chairman; Wendy Burgess, Secretary; Brenda Ellison, Melissa Hood, Chris Karr and JC Neel IV.
