West Pelzer and Piercetown firefighters responded to a head on wreck late Friday night on Highway 8. It happened on the east approach to the bridge over Highway 29. Pelzer man killed in head on collision
A 39-year-old Pelzer man died from injuries sustained in a head-on collision that occurred just before midnight Thursday (June 4).
The Anderson County Fire Department, Medshore Ambulance Service, Anderson County EMS,
South Carolina Highway Patrol, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the Coroner responded to a two-vehicle collision at 1107 Easley Highway in Pelzer.
The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The victim’s Identity was being withheld pending family notification.
Investigation indicates that the victim was traveling west on Easley Highway in Pelzer and crossed the center line striking another vehicle traveling east.
The investigation is on-going by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
