Authorities also responded to a drowning incident at Lake Hartwell on Sunday.
Anderson County 911 received a call just after 2 pm for a person who had drowned at Broyles Landing in Townville. Anderson County Dive Team and Technical Rescue Team responded and recovered one deceased male from the water.
The victim has been identified as Jose Isidro Felipe Garcia of Anderson.
Preliminary investigation shows that the victim was swimming back to shore from an island when he went underwater and never resurfaced.
The death has been ruled accidental.
The incident was investigated by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner, the Department of Natural Resources and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
