Evette holds last campaign stop before primary runoff election in Pelzer

SC Lt. Governor Pamela Evette held her last campaign rally for Governor Monday at Ballard Heights event venue in Pelzer.
The event drew approximately 75 people. Local mayors and other politicians were in attendance as well as Evette’s family and friends.
SC House District 28 representative Chris Huff, SC House District 9 representative Blake Sanders and Williamston Mayor Rockey Burgess spoke at the event.
Evette gave her usual campaign talking points about reducing property taxes and eliminating state income tax.
When asked if she planned to raise taxes to compensate or what her plan is to accomplish this, she said she has a plan to use more technology which will reduce the size of how many people are employed by the state and will also take away some of the bloat in government spending.
Evette also mentioned lessening the burden on small businesses.
Evette said she believes that someone with business expertise like hers will be a great asset to being Governor. She started her own payroll business and it expanded to include businesses in all states. She believes the SC State government needs to be run like a business and she plans to bring on more people with business experience to make SC government more efficient, like a business, rather than have it run by a career politician.
