A twenty-two-year-old Florence man who was one of two people hit by a vehicle on Pearman Dairy Road in Anderson while changing a tire last week has died.
Anderson County 911 received a call just before 11 pm on June 22 regarding a car vs pedestrian incident on Pearman Dairy Road. Responders arrived on scene to find two victims that had been hit by a car. One male succumbed to his injuries on scene and the other victim was transported to AnMed where he died on Thursday afternoon.
The Anderson County Office of the Coroner identified the second victim as Adrian McCants, 22, of Florence.
The victim who died on the scene was identified as Tyheim D. Pickens, 24, of Anderson.
Preliminary investigation showed that the victims were involved in a prior wreck that had disabled the vehicle they were in. Both men were attempting to fix a tire on the car when they were struck by a vehicle traveling on Pearman Dairy Road.
The deaths have been ruled accidental.
The incident was investigated by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
