Whitefield firefighters responded to a wreck involving a tractor trailer and a pickup truck Friday afternoon. It happened on Highway 29, south of Welcome Road. The tractor trailer crashed through the guardrail and went down an embankment. A tree came into the cab miraculously missing the driver. The pickup truck went over the guardrail and down an embankment upside down. Medshore and QRV’s also responded with a trooper. Highway 29 was shut down until the wreckage could be removed.
