Wren, Piercetown, and West Pelzer firefighters responded to a charter bus fire Saturday afternoon. The bus had pulled onto the southbound shoulder of I-85 near the 33 mile marker. The bus was heavily damaged by the fire. Piedmont firefighters sent a crew to Wren for coverage. Medshore assisted with the passengers and driver, all who escaped the burning bus. SHEP assisted with traffic. QRV’s and a state trooper also responded. The fire was quickly brought under control by firefighters. Anderson County Emergency Management also assisted.
