A Marion, NC man died after being thrown from a truck Monday in Anderson County.
The Anderson County Office of the Coroner identified the victim as Jose Carmen Joaquin Morales, 40.
According to reports, Anderson County 911 received a call just after 2 pm on Monday for a wreck on Highway 243 at Milford Road in Townville. Responders arrived on scene to find one victim deceased.
Preliminary investigation shows that the victim was sitting on the tailgate of a truck crossing over Highway 243 from Milford Road when it was struck by a logging truck driving on Highway 243. The victim and another male were ejected due to impact.
The scene is under investigation by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the South Carolina State Transport Police, and the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
