The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has charged Eric Thomas Brown Jr., 25, of Iva with Intent to Defraud, Counterfeit Game Tickets and Conspiracy to Defraud the South Carolina Education Lottery in connection with an incident.
According to arrest warrants, Brown was an employee of Stop-A-Minit #23 located at 3300 Abbeville Hwy., Anderson, when he unlawfully passed a quantity of stolen SC Education Lottery (SCEL) scratch off tickets without rendering payment to the store.
Warrants also stated that Brown and a co-defendant did conspire to defraud the Stop-A- Minit #23 in the incident.
SLED also charged Kayla Marie Madden, 37, of Easley with Conspiracy to Defraud the South Carolina Education Lottery.
Both were employees of the store.
Brown Jr. and Madden were booked into the Anderson County Detention Center.
The South Carolina Education Lottery requested the SLED investigation. The cases will be prosecuted by the 10th Circuit Solicitors Office.
