U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and Sen. Katie Britt (R-ALA.) met with Darline Graham (center) at the U.S. Capitol, welcoming her to the Senate and the South Carolina delegation ahead of her swearing-in ceremony on July 14. Graham will serve the remainder of the late Lindsey Graham’s term.
Last week, South Carolina and the nation lost a true statesman in the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham.
Sen. Tim Scott honored the late senator’s life of service and legacy of keeping America safe and secure. In a statement, Sen. Scott said, “South Carolina will forever have a hole in its heart from Sen. Graham’s passing, but he will forever be remembered for his wit and wisdom”.
Sen. Scott also welcomed Darline Graham to South Carolina’s U.S. Senate delegation. She will serve the remainder of the late Lindsey Graham’s term.

To honor the late Lindsey Graham, Sen. Scott led his colleagues in introducing a resolution honoring the late senator’s life and legacy. The resolution passed with unanimous approval as the Senate mourned the loss of a man with a legacy marked by putting faith, family, and South Carolina first.
Lindsey Graham’s sister, Darline Graham, was selected to fill the remainder of her late brother’s Senate term. Sen. Scott welcomed her to the delegation.
Sen. Scott’s 16th annual South Carolina Prayer Breakfast will take place next Wednesday, July 22, bringing together members of Congress, faith leaders, and guests to reflect on the life and legacy of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, shared values, and the role of faith in public service.
