AnMed officials said Tuesday they continue to make steady progress restoring computer systems following the cybersecurity incident that affected the health system’s network.
Hospital leaders said teams are working alongside third-party cybersecurity specialists to safely restore systems while maintaining a focus on patient care.
“Protecting patients and providing safe care remain our highest priorities,” AnMed said in its latest update. Clinical teams continue using established downtime procedures, and decisions regarding procedures, patient transfers, diversions and other operational processes continue to be guided by safety.
AnMed physician offices reopened Tuesday for scheduled appointments. However, because phones, internet and computer systems remain offline, patients are being asked to bring all medications in their original containers and be prepared to provide their medical history during appointments.
Patients needing urgent prescription refills are asked to visit their physician’s office in person. Office staff will also contact patients in the coming days to reschedule appointments that were canceled Monday.
AnMed Kids Care and all AnMed Urgent Care locations remain open for walk-in appointments.
Health system officials said the investigation into the cybersecurity incident remains ongoing. While many patients have expressed concerns about the security of their personal information, AnMed said the forensic investigation is still in its early stages and it is not yet able to provide details about the nature or scope of the incident.
Officials said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
