Anderson School District One is among South Carolina’s top-performing school districts based on results from the 2025-26 statewide assessments released Aug. 10 by the South Carolina Department of Education.
The results include SC READY assessments and End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP) scores. District officials said the scores reflect Anderson One’s continued commitment to academic excellence and providing students opportunities to learn at high levels.
“Despite being one of the lowest funded school districts in South Carolina, our students continue to perform well on state assessments due to the hard work and determination of the best group of teachers in our state,” Superintendent Dr. Seth Young said. “Our staff works tirelessly to provide all of our students the opportunity to learn at high levels. Once again, these test scores reflect the Tradition of Excellence Anderson School District One is known for.”
Anderson One ranks high in EOC subjects
Anderson One demonstrated consistent growth across the four End-of-Course subject areas: Algebra 1, Biology, English 2 and United States History and the Constitution.
The district was the only traditional public school system in South Carolina ranked among the top four in all four EOC subjects. Anderson One also earned the No. 1 ranking in Algebra 1.
Strong SC READY results
Students in grades 3-8 take SC READY assessments in English Language Arts and Math, while students in grades 4 and 6 are also tested in Science.
In ELA, Anderson One was one of only three districts statewide to exceed the state’s 75 percent proficiency goal in grades 3-5. The district also ranked among the top four statewide in ELA for every grade from third through eighth.
Third grade ranked third with 77.5 percent meeting or exceeding standards; fourth grade ranked third at 78.3 percent; fifth grade ranked fourth at 76.6 percent; sixth grade ranked third at 70.9 percent; seventh grade ranked second at 74.1 percent; and eighth grade ranked third at 71.1 percent.
Math results also placed a majority of Anderson One grade levels among the state’s top five. Third and fourth grades each ranked fourth statewide, fifth grade ranked fifth, seventh grade ranked third and eighth grade ranked second. Sixth grade ranked eighth.
In Science, Anderson One ranked among the top six districts statewide in both fourth and sixth grades.
“The consistency shown throughout these results is indicative of a strong, academically-focused culture in Anderson One,” Chief Academic Officer Brad Moore said. “Our incredible educators work collaboratively to support students and continually build upon our Tradition of Excellence.”
