Detectives have arrested 34-year-old Tynisha Lashae Jones of Anderson, after a months-long investigation into the death of her infant child.
The infant, who had been transported by first responders from a residence on Howland Drive, in Anderson to AnMed, succumbed to injuries while at the hospital.
The Anderson County Office of the Coroner identified the 10-month-old female victim as Talayah Lucille Donaldson.
The investigation began on December 12, 2025, after detectives with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Division were called to AnMed regarding an infant death.
Upon arrival, detectives interviewed several individuals involved with the case, including Jones.
A search warrant was executed and conducted at the residence and specimens were sent for laboratory testing while the case remained open.
Several months later, laboratory results were sent back to the Sheriff’s Office and the Anderson County Coroner’s Office showing a high dose of morphine in the infant’s blood. The death was ruled a homicide.
After several interviews, detectives determined through evidence and medical records, that Jones was the party responsible for administering the morphine to her infant.
Jones was arrested and charged with Murder/Homicide by Child Abuse on September 25, 2026, and she was incarcerated at the Anderson County Detention Center.
The arrest warrant stated Jones was from Mount Carmel, SC.
