A 26-year-old Belton man died following a single-motorcycle wreck on River Road in Piedmont late Saturday night. Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore identified the victim as Jacob Chase Scroggins. Preliminary investigation indicates Scroggins lost control of his motorcycle, crossed the center line and struck a fence and a tree, causing him to be ejected. The death was ruled accidental. The wreck remains under investigation by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
