New high school to relieve overcrowding

Meeting to discuss names – The Board of Trustees of Greenville County Schools is accepting suggestions for the name of the new high school to open in southern Greenville County in August 2017. The school, which will be located on Quillen Avenue in Fountain inn, will relieve overcrowding at Hillcrest, Mauldin, and Woodmont High Schools.

Suggestions for the name of the new high school can be made by sending a letter to Greenville County Schools, Attention: Name the New South County High School, 301 E. Camperdown Way, P.O. Box 2848, Greenville SC 29602-2848.

Suggestions can also be submitted online by visiting the Greenville County Schools website. If the name is being suggested by a student, include the student’s name, grade, and current school. Please submit suggestions only once. The deadline for submitting suggestions is February 21 at 4:00 p.m.

A community meeting will be held at Fountain Inn Elementary School, 608 Fairview Street, on Monday, February 27 at 6 p.m. to provide opportunities for discussion and input regarding the name of the new high school.
