The Anderson County Coroners Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash on Three and Twenty Road Friday night. It is the third motorcycle related fatality for Anderson County this week.
The crash occurred just after 9 pm Friday on Three and Twenty Road near Windermere Court in Easley. Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore identified the victim as Eric Edmont Rose, 36, of Woodruff.
According to reports, the investigation indicates that the victim was traveling Southeast on Three and Twenty Road and apparently lost control of his motorcycle, traveled off the left side of the road and then impacted several trees and a fence resulting in the victim being ejected. The victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the impact.
The Anderson County Fire Department, Anderson County EMS, Medshore EMS, South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the Office of the Coroner responded to the accident.
The investigation is on-going by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Coroner Shore, stated “This is the third motorcycle fatality in 6 days, and we have not even entered the summer season.” Shore wants to send a reminder to all, that with warmer weather there will be more motorcycle riders out riding and that riders should wear their helmets and other drivers should maintain an awareness of motorcycles when driving. He also encourages riders to slow down, become familiar with the area they are riding and be observant for even the smallest obstacle that may result in a crash.
“We want riders to enjoy the ride and be safe. I’m hopeful this will be a safe summer for all,” Coroner Shore said.
