Authorities have identified the body discovered in a stream near 626 Osteen Hill Road in Piedmont this weekend as Walter Donahue, WM, 48 of Greenville. He had been reported missing in October.
According to the incident report filed by Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputy A.F. Acevedos, Sherri Chase,the man’s sister, received information about his body’s location and after verifying the presence of human remains, she contacted the ACSO. Deputy Acevedo and Deputy Cook conducted a search and confirmed the location of the victim.
Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore stated that the autopsy has not been completed, but that conditions at the scene made it evident that Donahue had caused his own death. “We have no reason to suspect any foul play at this time.
