The Greater Williamston Business Association (GWBA) elected officers for 2016 during their regular monthly meeting held Tuesday at the Williamston Municipal Center.
Officers for 2016 are: President-Mike Simpson; Treasurer-Nancy Sisk; Secretary-Paula Payton; At Large-Sonya Crandal/Envision Williamston Director; At-Large-Bobby Winburn; Ex Officio-Robin Tucker; 1st Vice President-Faye Meares; 2nd Vice President-Blake Sanders; 3rd Vice President-Susan Martin; At-Large-Lee Cole; At-Large-Kelli Lancaster.
The group also approved $6000 to purchase six shipping containers for the Firefighting Program at the Anderson School Districts I&II Career and Technology Center. The containers will be used for an on site live burn building for training students and local firefighters. (See separate story)
The GWBA is comprised of local businesses who have joined together to promote the greater Williamston area and currently has more than 70 members.
They sponsor or co-sponsor an Annual Easter Egg Hunt, July 4th event, GWBA golf tournament, Party in the Park, Boo in the Park and participate in the annual Christmas Park.
