Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the following incidents:

EASLEY

Dec. 11 – P.D. Marter responded to the WalMart at 11410 Anderson Rd., where he placed Quashawn, BM, 19, of Simpsonville, under arrest for shoplifting.

Dec. 12 – P.D. Marter responded to the WalMart where he placed Stephen Patterson, WM, 37, of Greenville under arrest for shoplifting.

Dec. 12 – J.D. Sparkman responded to the WalMart, where he placed Kyah Burton, BF, 34, 5’2″, 130 pounds under arrest for shoplifting.

Dec. 12 – J.D. Sparkman was dispatched to 331 Shenandoah Dr. in response to two incidents at that address. Sharon Keeler reported that she was sleeping in her home and awoke to find Preston Anderson, WM, 38, 5’9, 150 pounds inside the residence. She reported the theft of jewelry and firearms valued at $6000 from the home. She said Anderson lives in the neighborhood but she did not know how he gained entry. Kenneth Keeler also reported that he had seen Anderson in his, Keeler’s, truck and confronted him. He said that Anderson had taken $160 cash from a wallet he had in the truck, but a third party, identified only as Swagner, persuaded Anderson to return the cash. The incident report, however, indicates that Keeler also reported auto parts and tools valued at $8400 as having been stolen as well.

PELZER

Dec. 11 – M.G. Davis was dispatched to 10 Stevenson St. where Joshua Pitts reported that someone had entered his home and stolen coins, and personal documents valued at $200.

Dec. 12 – M.G. Davis responded to the area of Hwy. 29N and Rogers Rd. where Marion Middleton Jr. reported that the gate to a pasture he owns at that location had been damaged by someone who forced entry to the property. The damage was estimated at $150.

Dec. 13 – J.T. Smith was dispatched to 317 Joe Black Rd. where Tanya Hollingsworth reported that she had received a call from her landlord that her house had been burglarized, accompanied by a description of the vehicle involved. She apparently encountered the vehicle on Joe Black Rd. and followed it to Debonshire Rd. while she called 911. Deputy Smith encountered the vehicle and made contact with Johnny King, WM, 40, 5’9″, 170 pounds. In the back of the truck he found several sheets of metal siding that were reported stolen from 214 Ina Marie Rd. earlier in the day. A subsequent a search of the vehicle and of King’s person, revealed various pills and a quantity of meth. Items stolen from Hollingsworth’s home were also found in the truck, and King was arrested on several charges.

PIEDMONT

Dec. 11 – P.D. Marter was dispatched to 3121 Hwy. 153 where Brandon King reported the theft of his 2012 VIP blue and white moped, valued at $900.Video surveillance revealed two white men in light clothing and ball caps pushing the scooter off.

Dec. 13 – P.D. Marter was dispatched to 115 Brookside Lane where Otto Anders III reported that someone had broken into a shed at that location and stolen undetermined items.

Dec. 13 – J.T. Smith responded to 166 Effie Dr. where Michael Metcalf reported that someone had shot his house with a BB gun several times, causing approximately $100 in damage. He blamed his brother who lives across the street. No arrest was made.

WILLIAMSTON

Dec. 13 – C.P. Huff and J.D. Sparkman responded to 101 Sheila Dr. in reference to an ongoing investigation. While on scene they were informed by dispatch that the subject, Ronald Potter Jr., WM, 27, 6′, 180 pounds was wanted on a warrant from Orange County, CA for robbery. They informed Potter of the warrant and attempted to take him into custody. He resisted for several minutes and was finally tasered. He was transported to ACDC to await extradition to CA.
