West Pelzer Elementary was on high alert Monday due to a suspect fleeing a traffic stop in West Pelzer. According to the West Pelzer Police Department, at approximately 7:38 am Monday, a traffic stop was initiated on Main Street by the West Pelzer Police Department. The suspect fled in their vehicle resulting in a single vehicle accident on Dendy Street. The suspect then fled on foot into a wooded area and was immediately apprehended. There was no danger to adjacent residents or West Pelzer Elementary School. The Town of West Pelzer remains in constant contact with West Pelzer Elementary School, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Town of Williamston.
