DHEC – ICU hospital bed use for COVID-19 patients at 27.84%

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) reported 1,666 new confirmed cases and 5 new probable cases of COVID-19 today (July 29). DHEC also reported 48 additional confirmed deaths and 4 new probable deaths.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases since the first case was reported March 6 to 85 and 423 probable cases. Total confirmed deaths are now 1,551, and 64 probable deaths.

Of the 1,451 ICU beds available, 1,152 are being used and 404 of those are by COVID-19 patients. This is a 27.84 % ICU bed use for COVID-19 patients. 299 ICU beds are available.

There are 1,596 COVID-19 patients hospitalized (404 in ICU) and 242 being ventilated.
