Mineral Spring Park in Williamston was closed Monday for roof repairs on park structures and other cleanup activities. Modern Roofing replaced shingles on the Long Shelter and Amphitheater. While the park was closed, town workers did cleanup around several structures and removed several dangerous trees. Roots around the Long Shelter and other areas were also covered and grass planted.
Other improvements are also underway in the Park.
New Pickleball and Basketball Courts are being installed. Paving for the courts has been completed and fencing, lighting and striping will be installed soon.
A new dog park is being constructed along Big Creek near the Fire Department. Fencing is being installed and Envision Williamston is in the process of ordering signs with guidelines for the facility. A ribbon cutting will be help soon.
Envision Williamston has also applied for a $5000 grant for benches for the new pickleball courts and dog park.
