Stan Yarborough named Athletic Director at Wren High School

Anderson School District One recently announced the selection of Stan Yarborough as new Athletic Director at Wren High School.
Yarborough has previously been the Assistant Athletic Director, and Director of Gameday Operations for Wren Athletics since 2017.
Having been an employee in Anderson School District One since 2000, Yarborough brings 23 years of experience in the classroom, as well as both an assistant and head coach of various sports.
In recent years, Yarborough led the Wren Golf Team to numerous Region Championships, three Upper State Championships, and has been honored as Region Coach of the Year multiple times.
When asked about being promoted to Athletic Director Coach Yarborough said, ā€œIā€™m extremely proud to be given the opportunity. Wren High School has a rich tradition in academics and athletics. The Wren Community has been my home for the last eight years, and I am grateful that Mr. Binnicker, Dr. Whitfield, and Anderson School District One has presented me with the opportunity to be the leader of Wren Athletics. I look forward to working with the community in our continued support and commitment to serving our student-athletes, building on our previous success and taking the program to even greater heights.ā€
Wren Principal Dr. Kyle Whitfield said of the hire, “Coach Yarborough has done a tremendous job as assistant athletic director over the past few years as he has worked diligently to ensure that all of our coaches and student-athletes had the support and resources needed to be successful. As athletic director, I am confident that his vision and leadership will continue to benefit all of our athletic programs at Wren.”
Yarborough received his Bachelors of History and Geography degree from Clemson University, and a Masters in Administration and Supervision from Anderson University. He will officially begin his role on July 1. He will continue to work with students in the classroom, while also handling A.D. duties.
